The Department of Computer Technology Engineering is academic and technical in nature and was established in Baghdad in 2012_2013 under Ministerial Orde (1018), dated 2/2/2013. Students who are graduates of preparatory studies accept the scientific branch and graduates of technical institutes and industry preparations (electricity, electronic, telecommunications, computers) and for morning and evening studies. The period of study lasts in the section (4 years), after which the graduate is awarded a bachelor's degree in computer technology (technical engineer).

The department seeks to qualify students for scientific and applied skills to give them the ability to design and implement machines and maintain and operate all computer accessions.

Given the scientific development in the technical field of computer engineering, there is a growing need in the labour market for specialized scientific elements in the societal and governmental fields.

Manipulating of our output skills and capabilities in practice in accordance with the effectiveness of quality performance in the labor market.

Mission:

1-Establishing technical engineering workshops specializing in computers used for enhancing students practical skills in accordance with the curriculum.

2- Bonding the capacities of teaching staff with external capabilities to reflect it on teaching methods.

3-Enhancecing the performance capacities of our output to ensure competition in the labor market.

4- Practical activation of study curriculum in accordance with up to date programs adopted by advance scientific institutions.

Objectives

1-Trainig technical and engineering, knowledge and academic and technical preparation combining engineering perceptions, technical creativity, scientific skill and quality of implementation.

2-Continnous development of study programmers through cooperation with corresponding department programmers and labor market needs, also the provision of a proper theoretical and practical teaching environment using state – of – the –art of teaching aids and devices and adopting quality scale and academic accreditation .

3-Continous capacity development regarding departments teaching, technical and managerial staff through participates in seminars, conferences and workshops organized by the department or corresponding department for local universities.

4-Follow – up of graduates of the department and ongoing evaluation of their performance to ensure effective contribution to the community after graduation according to future vision for developing and expanding community participation.

5-Offering technical and academic advices in the field of specialization.

6-Realistic and effective view of the development of the department potential in carrying out research, and studies and create post – graduate training requirement
