Sustainability and development team

At Al-Esraa University, there is a team responsible for sustainability and university development. They are divided into several categories based on the required activities, including the Water Sustainability Team, Green Spaces Sustainability Team, Energy Team, and Environmental Pollution Reduction Team. They engage in various activities, such as:

 

·        Rise Student Awareness: The team works on raising awareness among students about the importance of sustainability and environmentally friendly practices. This is achieved through awareness campaigns, workshops, and lectures.

·        Waste Management: The team implements waste management programs at the university, including waste segregation, recycling, improving waste disposal processes, and handling hazardous waste.

·        Sustainability in Buildings: The team focuses on improving energy efficiency, using environmentally friendly building materials, and maintaining sustainable green spaces.

·        Water Conservation and Providing Potable Water: The team works on reducing water consumption and ensuring the availability of safe drinking water.

Good governance

Under the auspices of The President of Al-Esraa University prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Jabr Al Majidi, the Committee for the Empowerment of Women participated in the University at a conference held in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and in cooperation with UN-Women today, Sunday, 2022/11/20, under the title and quote; National Strategy for Iraqi Women for the years 2023-2030 and quote; (the theme of economic empowerment).

The Conference emphasized some of the recommendations, which included caring for women in all areas, providing them with the necessary support, facilitating the granting of loans for the establishment of enterprises, supporting women entrepreneurs, emphasizing compulsory education for them, eradicating illiteracy, protecting women from harassment and informing them of their rights as guarantors of their existence in society. They represent the whole of society.
In the Empowerment of Women section in Al-Esraa University we implement policies and training programs are applied to equality, diversity and human rights and to combat discrimination and harassment 
There are sensitization workshops offered to combat harassment and its negative effects on society, particularly students, and fines are meted out to harassers to deter future incidents.

Supporting the mental and overall health of students is extremely important, and the following is an explanation of the services provided by our university in this regard:

 

Health and Psychological Support Center: The University has a Health and Psychological Support Center available for students. Students can benefit from individual or group consultations to deal with psychological challenges, daily pressures, and time management. These consultations aim to help students reduce the level of psychological stress they may experience during their university studies in various fields.

 

Primary Healthcare: Our University provides first aid services at the nursing center, where initial treatments are provided for wounds and emergency injuries. The university also has a pharmacy to ensure the safety of students in emergency situations. In addition, hand sanitizing devices are available in various buildings to reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

 

Educational Seminars: The University organizes various educational seminars, including seminars on drug abuse prevention and the health risks of smoking. These seminars educate students about the psychological and health damages associated with these behaviors.

 

Crisis Intervention: In cases of emergencies or critical situations, protocols are in place to provide immediate assistance. This may include crisis counseling, risk assessment, and referral to appropriate resources or professionals as needed.

 

Workshops and Training Sessions: The center organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions on various topics related to mental health and well-being. These educational programs aim to enhance students' knowledge, skills, and coping strategies to deal with stress, improve self-care, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

 

Awareness Programs: The center actively participates in awareness programs to increase mental health awareness and promote well-being among the student community. This may include organizing awareness campaigns, distributing educational materials, and collaborating with student organizations or university groups to promote a supportive and inclusive environment.
