          Al-Esraa University includes modern scientific specializations that have become of great importance in society, including the Department of Cybersecurity Sciences, which was established in the academic year 2023-2024 and is considered a branch of modern technology that contributes to protecting systems, networks, and programs from cyber-attacks, The Cybersecurity specialty links the networking specialty with Cybersecurity sciences and focuses its attention on protecting data in all its forms during its transfer, storage, and transmission across networks..     The period of study in the department is four years. The graduate of the department is awarded a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity science, during which the student receives information on various topics such as databases, website design, artificial intelligence, computer networks, various information systems, data protection, programming, system building, and others according to a study program that keeps pace with the latest developments and needs in the labor market for Cybersecurity specializations.

    The department receives graduates of preparatory school in its scientific and industrial branches (electronics and control, computers, computer networks, computer electronics and information technology, computer assembly and maintenance and mobile phone devices).

    The department adopts a commitment to the standards of the Bologna Process, which was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and aims to develop educational institutions for the purpose of local, regional and international competition. The path includes a set of processes and procedures that aim in the future to computerize the educational process as a whole, ensuring the transition to smart education and learning.

    The department's vision is considered a reflection of the vision of the college and university, which is represented by excellence locally, regionally, and internationally in the fields of education, scientific research, community service, and contributing to the preparation of the knowledge society, in addition to pioneering Cybersecurity and networks education in Iraq.

    Mission

    The mission of the department is to provide distinguished educational and research service in the field of Cybersecurity and networks in accordance with academic accreditation and quality standards to prepare graduates with high scientific and professional competence who are able to compete in the local and regional labor market and contribute to protecting institutions from cyber-attacks.

    Program objectives

    ü Graduating specialists in the networking and Cybersecurity sector equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.

    ü Developing students’ abilities in creativity and innovation and encouraging scientific exploration and research in a way that qualifies them to compete in the labor market.

    ü Building a cadre capable of managing and protecting Cybersecurity, computer networks, and data centers, and securing them against cyber-attacks.

    ü Providing students with various skills that enable them to optimally employ information and communications technology in general and cybersecurity in particular in various organizations and institutions.

    ü Enabling students to use scientific methods and modern knowledge to solve real problems.

    ü Promoting the spirit of teamwork and participation in job opportunities, leadership, excellence, productivity, lifelong learning and self-learning.

    ü Providing different organizations with specialized cadres that contribute to finding alternatives and solutions to the problems resulting from the penetration of network systems and data storage centers.

    ü Continuous development of study programs through cooperation with regional  and international academic institutions to suit the requirements of Cybersecurity programs.

    ü Cooperating with the relevant departments to follow up on the department’s graduates and continuously evaluate their performance to ensure effective contribution to community service after graduation according to a future plan and vision to develop and expand the community participation.
