Overview of Section:

The Department of Tourism Science and Hotel Management was established at Isra University for the academic year 2022/2023, with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq for the year 2022.

Applicant's qualifications:

The Department of Tourism Science and Hotel Management receives students from the Scientific and Literary Branch for preparatory study, trade preparatory, management institute and tourism institute.

Section Strategy:

1. Developing curricula in line with developments in tourism literature.

2. Harmonize the theoretical framework in the curriculum and the extent of application in tourism enterprises.

3. To be a link between academic institutions of a service nature and the requirements of the tourism market service and hotel management.

4. The tourism market has provided the needs of human resources with diverse specialization in the tourism sector.

5. Cooperate with colleges and corresponding departments in the fields of scientific research and development, conferences, seminars and workshops locally and internationally.

6. Contribute to the dissemination of tourism culture in society by organizing seminars, conferences and exhibitions using all means of communication locally and internationally.

Vision:

Scientific leadership at the level of tourism academics and hotel management and the tourism sector's satisfaction of the requirements of the labour market serviceably and administratively, and meeting the need of the community of cadres specialized in supporting tourism and hotel establishments.

Message:

The Department's mission is to prepare women owners in both scientific and practical fields to serve the community in the development of the tourism sector and hotel management in Iraq to achieve effective leadership and leadership of the tourism sector as a nucleus of strict tourism and hotel disciplines in various theoretical and practical fields to meet the challenges of the local and global labour market.

Objectives:

1. Preparing and graduating specialized scientific and professional staff that contribute to the fields of tourism and hospitality capable of meeting the needs of Iraqi society.

2. Achieve quality standards adopted to promote tourist and hotel facilities.

3. Establish research and development pillars for tourism and hotel management activities scientifically and practically.

4. Enabling tourism professionals to achieve strategic objectives.
