Qualifications of a graduate of the Department of Medical Physics
The qualifications for graduates of the Department of Medical Physics are to acquire skills in the following areas:
1-Clinical service
2-research and development
3-Development and consulting
4-Administration
There are some skills that a medical physicist performs:
· Supervision of the maintenance of equipment that used in medical imaging
· Review data related to radiation levels in the nuclear power plant
· Work with doctors to ensure the safety and effectiveness of radiation procedures
As well as radiation protection systems for people working in this field. There are many other applications of medical physics in the medical field under the branch of medical monitoring and diagnosis, and they include (EKG, EEG, and other applications), such as: applications of medical physics that are concerned with studying the brain by using magnetic waves, or uses of infrared radiation, and the use of heat in treating Oncology, in addition of lasers in surgery, and offers customized medical physics.
The work of a medical physicist in all or some these activities depends on the workplace, his educational background, and personal interests
Career Title:
Graduates of the College of Science - Department of Physics are given the job title “Physics Assistant.”
Because the study system in the college is (course system - semester), then the study system in the department is the semester system
The study in the department for four years, each academic year containing two semesters
